LeadingAge Minnesota’s Online Community Terms of Service
Thank you for joining LeadingAge Minnesota’s Online Community. LeadingAge Minnesota established these groups to offer our members the opportunity to connect with peers, stay informed, get answers to questions and share what they know with their colleagues in aging services. Online Community membership is open only to members of LeadingAge Minnesota, either directly or through affiliation with a LeadingAge Minnesota member.
We developed the following Online Community policies to ensure the best possible experience for all users. Please feel free to contact your Online Community Facilitator with any questions or suggestions.
ONLINE COMMUNITY RULES
Please do not “name call” or “attack” others. Group discussions are meant for sharing knowledge and offering assistance, not creating contention.
Please do not post “protected health information” or other sensitive information to group discussions.
Please do not post commercial messages to groups. We encourage you to contact members directly with information about products and services that you find helpful.
Please use caution when discussing product and service providers. Information posted in a group is available for all group members to see, and comments may be subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
Defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal language is strictly prohibited. Please do not post anything in a group message you would not want to be seen by others.
Remember that LeadingAge Minnesota and other group participants have the right to reproduce postings to this group.
ONLINE COMMUNITY ETIQUETTE
To make the Online Community groups as useful as possible, please follow these rules of engagement.
Please make sure your group messages include topics in the subject line. Doing this allows other participants to respond more appropriately to your posting.
Please send any administrative requests directly to your Online Community Facilitator.
State concisely and clearly the topic of your message in the subject line to allow for faster responses and searches.
Only use the Online Community group for messages on topics of broad interest, not for one-on-one communication.
Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list.” Instead, update your notification settings in your Online Community profile settings or contact your Online Community Facilitator for help.
Use good professional judgment and caution with your messages, remembering that they are visible to all group members, and are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
Always remember that LeadingAge Minnesota is an inclusive community dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment in any form.
Participants violating these rules may be asked to leave the Online Community group at the sole discretion of LeadingAge Minnesota. Please contact membersupport@leadingage.org, with questions about the Online Community groups.
LEGAL RULES/DISCLAIMERS
These Online Community groups are provided as a service of LeadingAge Minnesota, and membership is open only to members of LeadingAge Minnesota, either directly or through affiliation with a LeadingAge Minnesota member. LeadingAge Minnesota is not responsible for the opinions and information posted in the Online Community groups and members are not permitted to post any information that constitutes or could be construed as constituting:
- Advertising.
- Marketing, including job postings.
- Solicitation of business.
- Vending.
- Attempting to sell or promote products or services.
- Engaging in or attempting to consummate commercial or professional transactions.
In addition, Online Community group members are not permitted to post political positions in Online Community groups.
LeadingAge Minnesota is not responsible for material posted by others that may be construed to be libelous or factually incorrect. LeadingAge Minnesota disclaims all warranties with regard to information posted in the member Online Community groups. This disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness.
In no event shall LeadingAge Minnesota be liable for any special, indirect, or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data or profits arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of any information posted in the Online Community groups.
Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. Do not post any information or other materials protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. By posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission from the copyright owner.
The posting party also grants LeadingAge Minnesota and Online Community group participants the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print and use such information or other material.
Messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another’s business, or other conduct intended to restrict free trade.
In the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of LeadingAge Minnesota, LeadingAge Minnesota reserves the right to whatever action is deemed appropriate, including deleting inappropriate posts and revoking Online Community group privileges.
